We will start from Holy Trinity Cathedral, the main cathedral of the Georgian Orthodox Church and tallest church building in the Caucasus. Then we will move to the Metekhi Plateau, at the monument to King Vakhtang Gorgasali, learn the legend about the foundation of the city and enjoy the impressive views of Old Tbilisi. We will continue our route by walking, it will allow us to experience the unique atmosphere of the city, see the statue of Tamada (Georgian toastmaster), the first public transport of Tbilisi, old trade-industrial streets, cross the Bridge of Peace and reach Narikala fortress by cable car. From the citadel we will go down by hiking trail, see the 19th century Tbilisi mosque and the waterfall of Leghvtakhevi. The excursion ends at the famous sulphur baths, which have great historical and social significance in the city life.
Day 3 – Telavi – Tsinandali – Bodbe – Signagi
This tour to Kakheti, which is one of the most beautiful region of Georgia in its eastern part, allows us to enjoy a variety of nature, traditional cuisine and cultural heritage sites, but the most impressive thing this area can introduce to you is a local winemaking method, continuing tradition dating back to 8000 years. The archaeological findings confirm that in VI millennium BC, the first wine in the world was made on territory of present day Georgia. That’s the reason why UNESCO has officially entitled this country as the Cradle of Wine.
We will go to city of Telavi via colourful Gombori Pass, see nine centuries-old plane tree and go ahead to Tsinandali, the beautiful place which belonged to poet and public figure Prince Alexander Chavchavadze, where Georgian wine was first made using European technology and bottled in the first half of 19th century. In Tsinandali we will visit wine museum with exhibition hall, which displays Georgian viticulture and wine-making process from ancient ages and of course we will have a tasting of this almighty drink.
Then we will see the town of 18th century — Signagi, stronghold with its graceful terraced architecture, narrow streets and spectacular views.
Final destination is Bodbe Monastery, one of the holiest sites for Christians as a burial place of St. Nino, Godmother of Georgia who preached Christianity in the beginning of 4th century. This beautiful nunnery is located among tall Cypress trees on a hillside, overlooking the Alazani Valley and the Caucasus Mountains.

Both of those architectural masterpieces are recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Then “Georgian military road“ and the Zhinvali reservoir, surrounded by several ridges. This place with picturesque panorama, does not give you the opportunity to be indifferent. Journey through the homeland of the most popular Georgian dish — “Khinkali” leads us to the Ananuri, a castle complex, which was built between 16th—17th centuries and was a place of many battles as a residence of Eristavis (Dukes) of Aragvi. From the fortress of feudal dynasty we will go to Gudauri, Georgia's most popular ski resort on the greater Caucasus Mountain range plateau, where we will be able to have breathtaking views from the monument of friendship, one of the fascinating examples of Soviet modernism which is in constant focus because of its shapes, sizes and colourful mosaics. Finally, we will reach Stephantsminda (Kazbegi) and visit Gergeti Trinity Church, which stands on 2200 meters above sea level on the top of a mountain and proudly looks down the townlet.
